Shoe Closets

Shoes to a girl is the equivalent of a bedroom with a walk-in closet; a must-have!!  In my quest for my first home, one of my absolute requirements is a huge walk-in closet where I can carve out a space for my shoe collection.  With this in mind, I started looking online for shoe closet ideas and I stumbled upon a home design app called Houzz!!  I literally can spend hours at night sifting through home decor & shoe closet ideas (think of HGTV design shows without commercials, hosts or other interruptions but better).

Here are my two favorite closets from the Houzz app that I plan to recreate in my home:

Another place that I’ve gotten shoe closet ideas from is Instagram.  I came across two shoe lovers who, like myself appreciate the art of collecting gorgeous shoes!!  Egreis & Tara both have a great eye for beautiful shoes.  Their breathtaking shoe closets consist of Christian Louboutin’s, Giuseppe Zanotti’s, Sergio Rossi’s, Walter Steiger’s and Manolo Blahnik’s to name a few.  With their permission of course, I’ve comprised some shots of their closets; check them out below:

Blonde Salad for SM

Steven Madden has been collaborating with some creative people lately.  Betsey Johnson, Keisha Cole and now fashion blogger, Chiara Ferragni of the Blonde Salad blog.

Vince Camuto

Well folks we’re getting down to the wire, only four more posts to complete my favorite brands from A-Z!!  Now onto V…

Vince Camuto brand is one of my new favorite brands.  This brand is edgy, classic and trendy.  My first pair were purchased from Marshall’s (worn here) on clearance for $25.00!!  Since it’s fall, I picked out my favorite boot styles that are out now by Vince Camuto:

UGG

Best known for their plush sheepskin boots, the Ugg brand actually makes more than the classic boots.  While I think these are the softest, warmest, most comfy boots ever made, I do not own a single pair.  The fact is, I reside in sunny Florida where us Floridians are known to wear flip flops on Christmas Day!!  However, I am still very much a fan of this brand.  Here are a few pairs that I wouldn’t mind having in my shoe collection:

Tom Ford & Truth or Dare

Tom Ford

Of course Tom Ford makes the list of my top shoe designers!!  I am in awe of his creative mind and talent.  His brand is in a league of its own with stylish and unique designs for both men and women.

Side Note: Funny story about my 73 year old grandfather’s first encounter with this designer.  I took my grandfather for his yearly eye examination and while shopping for frames, he spotted and picked out a pair of Tom Ford’s.  Well much to his dismay, he looks from his dilated pupils at what he thought was the code for the frames but in actuality it was the price, $495.00!  The conversation went as follows:

Papa: “April, is this the price?”

Me: “Yes, Papa those are $495.00 Tom Ford frames.”

My grandfather immediately placed the frames back in their place and says, “Well who the hell is Tom Ford and why they cost so much?!”.  I explain to him that Tom Ford is a well-known fashion designer, he then exclaims, “Hell, I don’t want to be fashionable, I just want to see!” LOL, I love that man!!

Truth or Dare

Madonna came out with this brand last year and I love her for this!!  Much like her music, this brand is sexy and sassy.  My mum bought me the Cesis spiked pump in black for my birthday last year and I love them (worn here)!!  I love that the styles can be dressed up or down.

Sam, Sergio & Steve

I am yet again torn between my favorite designers… Therefore, I present to you my go to picks for work, a night on the town & everyday wear.

Sam Edelman

Technically, I’ve been wearing this designer since I was in middle school.  That is, I owned a few pairs of the well-known “bowed” ballet flats by Sam & Libby.  However, Sam Edelman has come a long way from just your everyday flats.  His vibrant designs are eye-catching and come in a range of styles from heels, flats, boots and sneakers!

Sergio Rossi

I was first introduced to this Italian brand last year while perusing DSW on a Friday night. Needless to say I ended up walking out with a pair of the most softest, well made, genuine leather shoe (Keyhole in beige) for $80.00 bucks!!  Now I am in love with this brand.  Sergio designs are unique, sexy, and fun.

Steve Madden

Steve Madden has been a part of my closet since high school.  From bags, accessories, and shoes, he has been a staple in my closet as I’ve transitioned from a teenager to adulthood.  Recently, Steve Madden has partnered up with Keyshia Cole (KC) designing shoes and I must say I am loving this collaboration!!  The first two are my favorites from the line.
